Family Herbalist Path – A 300-Hour Foundational Herbal Program

The Family Herbalist Path is an immersive 300-hour program designed to give you the knowledge, skills, and confidence to care for yourself, your loved ones, and your community with safe, effective, and evidence-informed herbal remedies. Blending tradition, science, and hands-on learning, this course takes you far beyond recipes and plant lists to develop a deep, working relationship with medicinal plants.

You will learn to:

• Identify, harvest, and prepare herbs using sustainable and ethical methods

• Understand plant actions and energetics in a Western clinical context

• Formulate teas, tinctures, syrups, oils, salves, and more for a wide range of everyday concerns

• Support wellness across the lifespan, from children to elders

• Confidently integrate herbs into your household care, including first aid, seasonal wellness, and chronic support strategies

Course Format:

• In-person core training sessions at Circé + Medée Community Wellness Centre (Pubnico, NS)

• Online homework, quizzes, and self-study modules to reinforce learning at your own pace

• Seasonal field walks, plant tastings, and medicine-making intensives in our teaching apothecary and gardens

• Guidance from a clinically trained herbalist with 3,000+ hours of advanced training

Who It’s For: This program is ideal for beginners, home herbalists, and wellness enthusiasts seeking a strong, reliable foundation. No prior herbal knowledge is required — just curiosity and commitment.

Certification: Graduates receive a Family Herbalist Path Certificate of Completion from Circé + Medée, recognizing 300 hours of herbal education. This course does not qualify you as a Community (also known as Practical) or Clinical Herbalist, but it is a strong first step toward professional training.
