Sometimes meditation needs more than silence. It needs support, a way to steady the body and quiet the noise so that stillness feels natural, not forced.

At Circé + Medée, we are introducing Hapé Supported Meditation, a guided gathering that combines mindful awareness with a traditional plant preparation known as hapé (pronounced ha-PEH).

Hapé is a fine herbal powder that is gently blown through a small pipe called a kuripe into the nostrils. The experience is grounding, clarifying, and deeply centering. Used for centuries in South and Central America, including in Brazil, Peru, and Costa Rica, hapé is traditionally part of ceremonial practices designed to open the senses and prepare for inner work such as ayahuasca rituals.

In our setting, hapé is approached with respect, intention, and clinical care. The blend used is a non-psychoactive, grounding herbal formula designed to clear the breath and calm the mind. It serves as a bridge between plant medicine and modern meditation.
Because of the nature of this practice, each participant will need their own personal kuripe pipe. For obvious reasons of hygiene, pipes cannot be shared or reused. This means the group can only begin once a minimum number of participants commit, allowing us to order kuripes and prepare the herbal blend.
